Day 12
I woke up and went to the gym today! Cycling class on monday mornings are my favorite. Although I did find out my favorite teacher is taking a month off to travel so that might change for a while. She's great though. She's a super hippie who believes in the gems and moon stuff. She's always talking the whole class and singing to the music - it's great! We'll see what next week brings.
Today is the solar eclipse. People are saying it the first one in 20 years and will be the last one for 17. It's passing over Rochester from 2 to 3 today with the most overlap happening at 2:30. I can't wait to see what kind of hippie stuff was 'mediated on during the full solar eclipse.' They're really going wild with the 'super charged from the moon.' It's great.
This weekend was lovely. Matt and I really just spent time with each other. Friday we were supposed to go to a Santana concert, but ended up just lounging on the couch and going to bed early. I came to find out that Matt is really into Santana and I made him stay home with me! I felt awful about it but by the time he told me it was too late to go.
Saturday we woke up and I went to a hot yoga class. Turns out I can't do hot yoga - I hate it. Just an hour of awkward postures and intense breathing in some of the hottest swampiest conditions I have ever known. I had to leave 50 minutes into the hour and 15 minute session because I was too hot and might pass out. After that fiasco I had my life insurance exam where she told me working out screws with my blood readings. I hope they don't find anything out because of a little hot yoga.... For the rest of Saturday we went antiquing and bought the fabric for Bridgette and Ryan's quilts. I started making a little figure for my friend Claire out of my scraps from quilts. It's a super uterus. She's going to freaking love it. Saturday night we caught our friend Steve's band playing at a bar down the street. We ate chinese food for dinner and neither of us have felt right since. I've been retaining water like crazy and Matt has been feeling sick to his stomach.
Sunday was lovely. We slept in then went to a museum down the street that I've been wanting to go to for awhile. It's the home of the prominent Kodak CEO George Eastman whom, come to find out, killed himself at the age of 77 because he had nothing going on in his life. His house was beautiful though and his legacy is still seen today. We then walked around the park with charlie and I started on some new vegan recipes from my new cookbook. I thought it was a vegetarian cookbook but it turns out it's fully vegan! I made the breakfast power bars last night, although I fear I overcooked them and made them into granola instead. Tonight we make our last meal from our plated box, then tomorrow night I'm making smoked corn chowder. Tomorrow for lunch we're having vegan sandwiches with a chickpea type of spread. I'm pretty excited. They all sound sensational.
Ok I have to get into the shower now.
