Day 2

August 8th 2017

What a good start to my day! I got up and went to the gym - first tuesday in a long time. There I lifted weights and did a bunch of sit-ups. Now I'm home and you guessed it, made a blueberry smoothie. It's everything. I used frozen blueberries that we picked from a farm a few weeks back, a way to ripe banana, a nearly spoiled apple and soy milk. It's a little frozen and just like a milkshake! I texted Matt's dad about it since he also has an appreciation for blueberry smoothies.

Matt is in Albany today and stayed there last night. Normally when he goes on trips I know about it and plan all of my things when he's gone. Normally I paint my toes, get a face mask going, pluck the hairs around my face no one but me notices, and really binge watch a show or complete a project. I didn't know he was going this time though so I didn't have anything planned! It was really weird having the house to myself. I didn't really like it. I started hearing things that weren't actually there and freaking myself out. That's a big problem with living in a townhome - you hear your neighbors doing things. I'm glad he's usually here!

Speaking of spooked Charlie is also spooked when Matt isn't here. For instance he just heard a car hit a curb or something outside and now he needs to be UNDER a blanket IN my lap RIGHT NOW. We're a mess without Matt.

Charlie has also become terrified of our instant air freshener. It sprays a linen fresh scent every 19 minutes and he runs away from it every time. I feel bad but it smells so good and is really hilarious.

This weekend is our Bradford Pennsylvania wedding reception. I think it's going to be a hit. Nearly all of Matt's family is coming and quite a few of his friends as well. My mom is coming up and I'm really looking forward to showing her around a bit more than the last time she came up. She came up a few months ago for a Jackson Browne concert in Albany. We had just moved here and didn't know of anything to do.

This weekend will be fun though. We're planning on going to Taste of Ellicoteville and obviously our reception. Gail, Matt's mother, has everything planned for the reception which I am BEYOND grateful for. I need to think of something special to gift her for all of her hard work for this wedding. I think we're going to have something amazing like 6 different areas of 6 different types of food. I know there's going to be a sushi station, and a cookie station. I'm really excited to know about the other four!

I have a video that I'm going to have looping for the whole time. I think there are over four hundred photos in it and it takes about thirty minutes to get through. I think it's lovely though. It's basically photos of Matt and I and our loved ones throughout the years. Unfortunately there aren't many of Vanessa and I, especially at the wedding. There are literally zero of Jessie and Lilly from the past 10 years with our family, but that's all a different day.

Time to get ready for work!
